Vaults & Organization
Vaults are secure containers that help you organize credentials by category, project, or team. They're also the primary way to control access and sharing.
Understanding Vaults
Think of vaults as secure folders for your credentials. Each vault:
- Contains multiple credentials
- Has its own name, icon, and color for easy identification
- Can be shared with other users or teams
- Has individual permission settings
Default Vault
Every account has a default vault called "Personal". New credentials are automatically added to your default vault unless you specify otherwise. You can change your default vault in Settings.
Creating Vaults
To create a new vault:
- Navigate to Vaults from the main menu
- Click Create Vault
- Enter the vault details:
- Name - A descriptive name (e.g., "Work Accounts", "Finance")
- Description - Optional notes about the vault's purpose
- Icon - Choose from available icons
- Color - Select a color for visual organization
- Click Create
Suggested Vault Structure
Here's a recommended organization for most users:
- Personal - Personal accounts and subscriptions
- Work - Company and work-related logins
- Finance - Banking, investments, and financial accounts
- Social - Social media and communication accounts
- Shopping - E-commerce and retail accounts
- Shared - Credentials shared with family or team
